Me at our Amoco Station in 1985Past

In March 1975, I earned a Dealer Development Diploma (Business Management) at Security Blvd, in Baltimore, Maryland. At the time, my place of residence was Floyd County, Virginia, close to the Little River.

My Parents owned and operated 2 businesses in the Town Of Christiansburg:

  • "Hodges Amoco Service Station" (1975-1985) and
  • "Hodges Tire and Muffler, Inc." (1985-2000)...
  • I co-owned, operated, and managed a "Convenient Store" ("Mountain Top Convenient Store") in Christiansburg, VA. in 1983-1984. My Father had purchased this store for my Mother and I.

Before the 2 "Family owned/operated businesses" in Christiansburg, my family owned and operated "Willis Shell Station " (3 garages and a tiny convenient store) in Willis of Floyd County, Virginia, from 1973 to 1975.

Clifton in Winter of 1982Throughout the years, it was necessary to have additional jobs, or another job at certain periods throughout this history. I was employed at a Department Store called "Hill's" (1978-1979). A few months in 1980 at a Convenient Store, "Seven-Eleven ". A few weeks in 1979 I worked at "Imperial Reading", which was an "Overall Factory" that made Clothing Jeans. And 2 short periods for Whiting Oil Company of Roanoke Virginia in 1980-1981 as a Sales Clerk at two of their outlets in Christiansburg, Virginia. I also worked A VERY SHORT cold and miserable week at a Construction company!

In the last half of the year 1989, I worked at Harmon's Chevron in Christiansburg, VA. This brought back the memories of some good at days of the Hodges Amoco Service Station.

I started my own personal small business in the 1990's, "Hodges Computer Helps Service", which helped others with PC Computing and software issues, as well as Desktop Publishing. With the birth of this business, it was actually "the business" that worked for "Hodges Tire and Muffler, Inc." in 1994-1998, taking care of Computer services and also being a care keeper of the establishment during closed hours (mostly nights) while Employees did major and time consuming Automobile work that could not be done during normal business hours. I am well versed in Computers, and in fact, I was a Software Tester in the Early 90's. You can see that page for that info. In 2002, I also did some Software Testing for Apex which is in Australia, for a short time. As for "Hodges Computer Helps Service", it was extended and called "CRH Sales And Services".

Among my careers was Sales, Services, Marketing, Care Taking & Keeper, Desktop Publishing, and Bookkeeping. My profession was Sales for many years. I had been studying and getting educated continously in Web Site Design & Development.
